On 5 November 2024, an event organized by the Emilia Romagna Region dedicated to STEP – the Competitive Challenge of the Platform for Strategic Technologies for Europe was held at Ecomondo at the Rimini Fair, South Hall Pavilion, stand 206. The main objective of the Platform is to focus on the strategic sectors of digital and deep tech technologies, clean and resource-efficient technologies and biotechnologies, in order to reduce the European Union’s strategic dependencies on non-European markets and introduce significant innovations in the development and manufacturing of critical technologies.
Morena Diazzi, General Director of Knowledge, Research, Work, Business of the Emilia-Romagna Region, opened the event by presenting the region’s approach to STEP. Marina Silverii, Operations Director of ART-ER, illustrated the role of the regional research and innovation ecosystem and the integration with the European programs of the STEP Platform.
Representing the Big Data Association, Carlo Pignatari gave a speech on the strategic sector of digital technologies and the importance of the artificial intelligence.
